Overview
1,000+ hand-farmed rice terraces cascading to the sea, illuminated by 25,000 LEDs in winter.
Over 1,000 tiny rice paddies cascading down a steep hillside directly to the Sea of Japan coast on the Noto Peninsula. Each terrace is too small for machinery, so all planting and harvesting is done by hand using traditional methods. In winter, 25,000 LED lights illuminate the dormant terraces in a spectacular display called Aze no Kirameki.
