Our Story
Built for the trips guidebooks can't plan
Going to Japan should feel as good as being there. Yuku (行く) means “to go.” We built this for the going.
Why Yuku exists
Japan rewards the traveler who goes deeper. A tonkatsu shop three blocks from the station. A mountain shrine that empties out by mid-afternoon. The quiet prefecture most itineraries skip.
These moments take planning, not luck. Yuku does the planning, with the depth and care of a concierge who already knows the country.

What we believe

A trip, not a research project.
Planning Japan can eat weeks of evenings and fifty open tabs. Yuku handles the routing, the train timing, and the sequencing in one place, so you can spend those evenings looking forward to it instead.
Beyond the algorithm.
Most itineraries circle the same four cities. Yuku draws from official tourism boards across every region, so the quiet prefectures earn their place too.
Travel with the grain.
Most friction between visitors and locals comes from missing context, not bad intent. Yuku briefs you on the etiquette, the timing, and the unspoken rules of a place, so you arrive ready. The Team
Who's behind Yuku

Daniel
Co-founder
Daniel spent years in Japan and came back convinced of one thing: the trips worth remembering are stitched together from candid moments and small rituals. He has worked in coffee and enjoys photography, still making room for both - bringing those same instincts to help shape Yuku. He currently leads product and operations at an AI startup.

Mel
Co-founder
Mel lives in Japan and built Yuku - the engine running underneath, and the look and feel on top. Years of expertise in photography and videography taught him to find the story in a long, quiet shot; engineering experience taught him to build what he sees. He’s happiest outside: hiking, camping, anywhere with a trail.

Miku
Concierge Coordinator
Miku is a Japanese native and the one who turns a Yuku Concierge plan into the trip you actually take: a human on the ground in Japan, not just an itinerary in your pocket. Between volunteering at local cultural events and sharing a home with two cats, she’s a practiced host - it's the care she gives every person who comes her way.
