A 170-meter shotengai of around 60 family-run shops, anchored at the western end by Yuyake Dandan, the so-called sunset stairs. Cat motifs run through the merchandise, a nod to the neighborhood's strong feline population. Vendors hand out food on skewers; eat as you walk.
Local tips
Most shops close Mondays. Arrive 30 minutes before sunset for the namesake view from the top of the stairs.
