Overview
Countryside temple blanketed in deep blue hydrangeas cultivated by hand for 15 years.
A quiet countryside temple on the northern Oga Peninsula that transforms into a sea of deep blue hydrangeas from late June through early July. The head priest spent over 15 years cultivating the flowers by hand, creating carpets of color that cascade down the hillside toward the Sea of Japan. With blooming season later than famous southern spots, it remains wonderfully uncrowded.
