The monastery interior is closed to visitors. The draw is the French-Gothic red brick facade and the gardens, which are particularly defined when covered in snow. The gift shop sells butter cookies and Madeleines made by the nuns; the cookies are also available at Hakodate Station if you miss them here.

Buy the famous Trappistine butter cookies at the gift shop. They are made by the nuns and available only here and at Hakodate Station. The gardens are especially beautiful with snow.
