斎場御嶽
The most sacred natural site in Okinawa, featuring massive limestone altars in a coastal forest.
The most sacred spiritual site of the native Ryukyuan religion, located in a dense coastal forest. Giant limestone rock formations create natural altars where priestesses once conducted vital kingdom rituals. The peaceful, dappled sunlight filtering through the trees creates a profoundly moving atmosphere.
At the famous triangular rock formation, look through the gap to see Kudaka Island, known as the Island of the Gods.
