Twenty-kilometer avenue of roughly 6,500 cherry trees climbing the approach road to Mt. Iwaki, the 1,625-meter volcano on Aomori's western edge. The tunnel of blossoms frames the snow-capped summit through late April and early May, two to three weeks after Hirosaki Park's main bloom. Local route from Hirosaki via Route 30; the full avenue is best driven, with pullouts near the summit-approach trailhead for photos.
