Located at the base of Mt. Otani, this shrine has a magnificent camphor tree (over 1,000 years old). It is historically linked to the nearby Bando POW camp, where German prisoners of war built the 'German Bridge' within the shrine grounds during WWI.
Local tips
Purify your hands at the temizuya before approaching the main hall. Left hand first, then right, then pour water into your left hand to rinse your mouth.
