Nezu Shrine keeps a hillside of roughly 3,000 azalea bushes that bloom through April, and a vermilion torii tunnel that reads like a smaller, calmer Fushimi Inari. During the Bunkyo Azalea Festival the flower garden charges a few hundred yen; the rest of the year the grounds are free and nearly empty. The current halls date to 1705.
