Kamotsuru Sake Brewing, founded in 1873 in Saijo, one of Japan's Three Great Sake Spots, is renowned for pioneering daiginjo brewing techniques. Their gold-leafed Tokusei Gold Kamotsuru gained international fame when served at a 2014 dinner between President Obama and Prime Minister Abe. Brewery No. 1, a national historic site, welcomes visitors free of charge with exhibits on traditional sake-making, a premium sake bar with on-site exclusive brews, and a gift shop.
