Jinbocho Book Town

The world's largest concentration of antiquarian bookshops packs roughly 130 secondhand dealers into a few Chiyoda blocks, with roots dating to the 1880s when law schools clustered here. Shops specialize obsessively, one sells only ukiyo-e prints, another only maps, another only pre-war photography books. The district is equally famous for its curry houses and kissaten coffee shops, where scholars and collectors have refueled for over a century.
