Sunset Beach
beach
石垣島サンセットビーチ
Ishigaki Island beach famous for sunset views over Yaeyama Islands, calm shallow waters, family-friendly snorkeling.
Sunset Beach on Ishigaki's northwest coast has a gentle curve of white sand that faces directly west, and the evening light across the water is the reason most people come. Swimming is calm here, with shallow entry and a sandy bottom that's easy on feet. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent through the day, and snorkel gear can be hired to explore the coral just offshore. Showers and changing facilities are in good condition. The water temperature stays warm enough for swimming through October, and the beach is far less crowded than Kabira Bay, making it a better option for people who want to actually get in the sea.
