Overview
400,000 moss-phlox plants in ten colors carpeting a hillside each April, with Chichibu local food.
Each late April, 400,000 shibazakura (moss phlox) plants erupt in ten color varieties across 18,000 square meters of hillside, creating a patchwork quilt effect against the backdrop of Mount Buko. The Chichibu Marche during peak season serves local miso potatoes, waraji katsudon, and craft sake alongside the flowers. A small sheep ranch on the grounds adds an unexpected pastoral element to this mountain park.
