Echizen Coast Suisen Land

Each January, millions of wild narcissus flowers bloom across the sea cliffs of the Echizen Coast, one of Japan's three great narcissus colonies. The flowers cascade down steep slopes to the crashing Sea of Japan, filling the cold winter air with an unexpectedly sweet scent. A cliff-top observatory provides panoramic views of the flower-covered headlands stretching into the distance.
