The largest tomb in the world by area, a keyhole-shaped burial mound attributed to Emperor Nintoku dating to the 5th century. The moated kofun stretches 486 meters long and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage cluster of 49 tumuli in the Mozu-Furuichi area. Best appreciated from the air or the Sakai City observation deck, as ground-level views reveal only tree-covered earthen banks.
