Sculptor Fumio Asakura's preserved 1935 home-studio with a bronze-figured rooftop garden.
Former studio and home of sculptor Fumio Asakura, who designed the building himself in 1935. The rooftop garden is set with his bronze figures around a small pond and is reached via a stairway after removing your shoes. The courtyard koi descend from Asakura's originals.
Closed Mondays and Thursdays. The basement studio with Asakura's tools is more telling than the rooftop most visitors come for.
