Hands-on Arita porcelain using original kaolin clay, wheel throwing, hand building, and painting.
The main visitor pottery workshop in Arita's historic Uchiyama district, offering wheel throwing, hand building, and porcelain painting. The center uses local Izumiyama kaolin clay, the same deposit discovered by Yi Sam-pyeong in 1616.
Local tips
The painting course on pre-fired pieces is quickest (1 hour). Wheel throwing takes 2 hours plus shipping.
