Atmospheric hot spring port town that historically shipped Iwami's silver.

A historic port town that shipped Iwami Ginzan's silver to the world. It is also famous for its deeply traditional, therapeutic hot springs that have been running for over a millennium. The narrow streets lined with old wooden ryokan provide an incredibly immersive time-slip experience.

Local tips

Try the public bathhouse 'Yakushiyu', noted for its extremely mineral-rich water that leaves a thick crust on the tub walls.
