The Yunoko Cherry Line in Minamata traces a breathtaking coastal road along the Yatsushiro Sea, where hundreds of cherry trees burst into bloom each spring, creating a tunnel of pink petals against the deep blue ocean. The route winds from the seaside up through forested mountain slopes, offering constantly shifting views of blossoms framed by sea and sky. Late March through early April is peak viewing season, when the trees are at their fullest and local vendors set up food stalls along the route.
