Nestled deep in the mountains of Yoshino, this beautifully rustic shrine is dedicated to the Shinto deity of water. The architecture features unique cypress bark roofs and a lovely central courtyard. It historically drew worshippers praying for safe childbirth, including the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
The hike up to this shrine is steep and long; utilize the micro-buses operating during peak seasons if you wish to avoid the strenuous walk.
