Subtropical garden showcasing relocated folk houses and traditional implements from Yoron Island's history.
Yoron village is nestled inside a subtropical garden off the main road to Akasaki beach. Established with the desire to collect folk implements, relocate and restore the old folk houses and display them to preserve the island's life culture and pass it on to future generations. This village is owned by the Kiku family and visitors can get a deeper understanding of life before the arrival of modern conveniences in the 1950s. Displayed inside the restored traditional houses and kitchen huts are woodworking tools and toys, such as the popular hollow pillows, which cradle your head at the right height.
