呼子朝市
One of Japan's top three morning markets, famous for squid so fresh it still moves on the plate.
One of Japan's three great morning markets, stretching 200 meters along Asaichi-dori at Yobuko's fishing port. Around 50 stalls open daily from 7:30 to noon, selling live squid pulled from the Genkai Sea, dried seafood, seasonal vegetables, and pickles. The town's signature dish is ika no ikizukuri, squid served so fresh it still moves on the plate.
