屋島スカイウェイ
The Yashima Skyway is the only paved road for cars going to the top of Yashima.
3.8-kilometer paved road connecting the base of the plateau to the parking area on the south ridge, near Yashimaji Temple. The drive takes about five minutes and passes sweeping views of the Seto Inland Sea, Mt. Goken, and the hillside where the 1185 Battle of Yashima was fought. A regular bus links JR Yashima Station to the summit parking lot, and the road is also open to cyclists and walkers. The parking lot stays open until 10 p.m., making this the practical route for anyone wanting to catch the sunset from the Shishi no Reigan lookout.
