Overview
Ancient Mount Fuji shrine uniquely featuring no main hall, worshipping the mountain directly.
One of the oldest Sengen shrines, unique because it has no main hall. Instead, an altar is aligned directly with Mount Fuji, worshipping the mountain itself as the deity. Tall cedar trees naturally frame this ancient, unmediated view of the volcano.
Local tips
Visit on a clear day, as the entire purpose of this shrine is the unobstructed sightline to Mount Fuji from the altar.
