Overview

Yadori Onsen is a small hot spring hotel set halfway between Koyasan and Hashimoto Station.

Halfway between Koyasan and Hashimoto Station, this small ryokan sits above a river surrounded by maples that flush green in spring and burn red and orange in autumn. Four independent cottages and hot spring baths make it a genuine retreat, and the restaurant serves seasonal dishes built around local wild boar, rare mountain herbs, heritage vegetables, and Wakayama sake. Summer brings families to play in the clear river below and watch fireflies at dusk. The location works well as a base for exploring Koyasan, and the property offers free pickup from both stations.

Local tips

Wash thoroughly at the shower stations before entering the bath. This is non-negotiable etiquette. Bring a small towel but keep it out of the water.
