碓氷第三橋梁 (めがね橋)
1892 railway bridge for Usui Pass between Gunma and Nagano, operational until 1963.
Built in 1892, it was operational as a railway track for the Usui Pass between Yokokawa in Gunma and Nagano's Karuizawa until services stopped in 1963. The real name of this bridge is Usui Pass No.3 Bridge, but it is more affectionately known as Megane-bashi. It was given its name because the arches resemble megane, or spectacles, in English.
