Urakuen Garden

At the foot of Inuyama Castle, this refined Japanese garden centers on Jo-an, a tea ceremony room designated as a National Treasure and one of only three such rooms in the country. Built in the early 17th century by Oda Uraku (brother of Oda Nobunaga), the tea house exemplifies the rustic wabi aesthetic that defined the era's most influential tea masters. The surrounding garden is compact but beautifully composed, with moss, stone lanterns, and carefully shaped greenery. A matcha set is available so you can sip tea in view of the historic room.
