浦富海岸自然探勝路
Hiking trails along dramatic San'in coastline reveal sea caves, rock arches, and crystal-clear coves for swimming.
The Uradome Coast in Tottori's San'in Kaigan Geopark runs along a stretch of sea cliffs, sea stacks, and hidden coves shaped from whitish granite. The nature trail follows the clifftops for several kilometers, crossing wooden bridges over narrow inlets and dipping down to small beaches reachable only on foot. The rock formations drop directly into clear water, and the contrast between the white stone, dark pines growing from the cliff edges, and the deep blue of the Japan Sea is sharp on clear days. Glass-bottom boat tours operate from Iwami and run through sea caves that the trail above doesn't reach. The full trail takes two to three hours at a comfortable pace.
