Uji

Uji sits along its namesake river south of central Kyoto, known as Japan's finest tea-growing region and home to the Byodo-in Temple depicted on the 10-yen coin. The riverside promenade connects historic bridges, tea houses, and the Tale of Genji museum in a compact walking route.
