Ueno Zoological

Japan's oldest zoo, opened 1882. The pandas pull the longest queues in the morning, so do them last or skip them entirely; the petting zoo and the 17th-century pagoda on the west side are the part most travelers miss. The east and west gardens are a five-minute walk apart through the grounds. Admission is modest, and the museums of Ueno Park surround the gate.
