Chatan Park Sunset Beach

Chatan Park Sunset Beach in Chatan town is a public seafront area built along a concrete seawall promenade that runs above a narrow beach. The spot is known primarily for its west-facing position and the quality of the sunsets, which on clear evenings turn the sky pink and orange over the East China Sea. The promenade is a popular walking and cycling route for Okinawa residents, and a cluster of cafes and restaurants along the waterside does good business in the evening hours. The beach itself is modest but clean. An American Village shopping and entertainment complex is a short walk away, making the whole area a practical evening destination that combines the sunset with dinner and shopping.
