Overview
Ancient, grassy burial mounds overlooking the sea, built by the seafaring Munakata clan.
A cluster of ancient burial mounds overlooking the Genkai Sea. These tombs belong to the powerful Munakata clan who controlled the sacred sea routes to the continent. The grassy, keyhole shaped mounds blend beautifully into the rural coastal landscape.
Local tips
Walk up to the observation deck near the parking area for the best elevated view of the entire tomb cluster against the ocean.
