The restored Goromon gate and moat walls of the former Satsuma domain castle, destroyed in the Satsuma Rebellion. The grounds provide a window into feudal Kagoshima and sit adjacent to the Reimeikan history museum.

The massive stone walls still show bullet marks from the 1877 Satsuma Rebellion. Best combined with the adjacent Reimeikan Museum for full historical context.
