Overview

Ancient mountain shrine on twin-peaked Mount Tsukuba, 3,000 years of sacred worship history.

Worshipping the twin peaks of Mount Tsukuba. Nantai (male) and Nyotai (female), this shrine has a history of mountain worship spanning over 3,000 years. The approach passes through centuries-old cedar groves before reaching the midway worship hall at 270 meters elevation. A cable car and ropeway connect to the 877-meter summit, where the panorama stretches from Tokyo Skytree to Mount Fuji on clear days.
