月沼
The only source of the water of Tsukinuma, or Moon Swamp, is the underground spring just beneath it. The continuous flow of fresh water makes this the clearest swamp of the six along the trail. The stream that carries water here runs underground between Kagaminuma and Tsutanuma, but surfaces between Tsukinuma and Kagaminuma. It is believed that Tsukinuma got its name from the nocturnal drinking parties held by Omachi Keigetsu, the writer whose travel essays put Tsuta on the map. He is said to have loved the reflection of the moon on the water.
