Tsukimachi Waterfall

月待の滝
Scenic viewpoint in mountainous Ibaraki, known for moon-viewing gatherings and autumn foliage along Kuji River gorge.
Tsukimachi Falls drops 17 meters into a pool surrounded by maple trees in the hills around Daigo in Ibaraki. The setting is shaped by geography rather than landscaping, and the result changes meaningfully with the seasons. In late October and November, the maples turn the cliff face orange and red, making this one of the better autumn leaf views in the Kanto region. A short path from the parking area leads directly to the base, and the spray keeps the air cool even in summer. Plan about thirty to forty minutes and combine it with the Daigo Waterfall Garden nearby.
