Trail to Yukakutei
landmark
遊鶴亭までの遊歩道
The 2.4-kilometer trail to the Yukakutei lookout, which is noted for its panoramas of the Seto Inland Sea, begins near the visitors’ parking lot on the south side of Yashima.
This 2.4-kilometer trail from the south parking lot on Yashima leads to the Yukakutei lookout on the north ridge, with panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea waiting at the end. The walk takes about 30 minutes and passes Sengendo Square, where the path splits into three routes offering different views of Yashima's terrain before converging again. Along the final stretch, ubame-gashi oak trees arch naturally over the path, their trunks and branches curved by the persistent ridge winds into a sheltering canopy. In spring and summer the greenery is dense, and the contrast between the shaded trail and the open sea views at the top makes the walk satisfying in any season.
