Overview

Shopping complex beneath Tokyo Skytree featuring 300 shops, restaurants, and the Sumida Aquarium.

Tokyo Solamachi occupies the base and lower floors of the Tokyo Skytree tower in Asakusa, spreading across more than 300 shops and restaurants over several floors. The retail mix includes Japanese craft goods, regional food specialties, electronics, fashion, and dining options ranging from quick ramen to sit-down kaiseki. A section dedicated to Sumida and Shitamachi cultural goods is useful for finding things specific to the area. The observation floors of the Skytree are ticketed separately and accessed from within the complex. Even without going up, Solamachi is worth an hour or two for browsing food halls and specialty shops, particularly the lower floors where regional products from across Japan are sold.
