Tokushima Central Park Sakura

徳島中央公園の桜
Cherry blossoms along the stone walls of the former Tokushima Castle.
Built on the ruins of Tokushima Castle, Tokushima Central Park becomes a focal point for the city each spring when approximately 250 cherry trees bloom along the outer moat and the base of Mt. Shiroyama. The pink blossoms reflecting in the moat water, framed by the preserved Eagle Gate, create a peaceful atmosphere right in the city center. After dark, the trees are illuminated and the park stays lively with locals enjoying yozakura. The adjacent Tokushima Castle Museum and an Omotesenke-style rock garden add depth to the visit throughout the year.
