Toguchi Beach
渡具知ビーチ
Overview
Long white-sand crescent backed by ancient Ryukyuan castle ruins, with calm turquoise waters and seaside trails.
Toguchi Beach in Yomitan is known for clusters of low, rounded rock formations that jut from the sand and shallow water, creating a distinctive shoreline that looks different from most Okinawan beaches. The water between the rocks is calm and shallow, good for snorkeling over the nearby reef. It's a popular spot for photography, particularly at low tide when the rocks are most exposed. Facilities include changing rooms and a small snack stand in summer. The beach faces west, so late afternoon light hits the rocks well. It gets busy on summer weekends, but a morning visit is generally manageable. The gusuku ruins nearby are a short walk away.
