轟の滝
Shikoku's tallest 58-meter waterfall surrounded by 99 named cascades in cedar forest.
Todoroki Falls sits where the Shiota and Iwayagawachi Rivers meet, its name derived from todoroku, meaning to roar. The waterfall drops in three tiers totaling 11 meters, with a 2,500-square-meter basin at its base. A statue of Fudo Myo-o stands mid-waterfall, placed in 1944 by a local monk to protect soldiers at sea. Local legend connects the falls through underground waterways to Nuinoike lake 15 kilometers away, and the dragon god said to travel between them reportedly resumed visits to the lake's goddess Benzaiten after lake water levels were restored in 2000. Visitors can pay a small fee to wade or meditate beneath the falls.
