Colossal wooden temple housing Japan's largest bronze Buddha statue.

One of Japan's most historically significant and impressive temples, housing a massive bronze Buddha statue. The Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall) is one of the world's largest wooden structures. Friendly deer greet visitors all along the approach to the temple.

Look for the wooden pillar with a hole through the base. Squeezing through it is said to grant enlightenment in your next life.
