Overview
Welcome to the Amatomi Trail, a long trail with two courses through Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park.
The Amatomi Trail runs through Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park in two courses, both starting from Nagano Station and taking roughly four days to complete. The terrain is mostly gradual, making it accessible for first-time multi-day hikers, though some sections are strenuous. Highlights include Zenkoji Temple at the trailhead, the ancient pilgrimage paths and shrine precincts of Mt. Togakushi, the wetlands of volcanic Mt. Kurohime, and Imori-ike Pond where Mt. Myoko reflects on still water. One fork leads toward Mt. Myoko and the Naena-taki waterfall; the other heads to Mt. Amakazari and a secluded hot spring before ending with views of the Sea of Japan.
