Nakasenuma Sightseeing Trail
ガイダンステラスシアター:中瀬沼探勝路
Overview
This level 1.2-kilometer trail in Fukushima passes through small hills formed by debris flows from the 1888 Mt. Bandai eruption, ending at a wooden observation deck overlooking Nakasenuma pond with the mountain and its visible eruption crater in the background. In warmer months, narcissus flycatchers and Japanese bush warblers are active around the water, alongside butterflies and dragonflies. Sawaoguruma daisies bloom yellow along the shore in summer, and pale Siberian hydrangeas add color through the season. Autumn turns the surrounding hillsides orange and red. Winter covers the trail in snow and brings out ice walkers. The trail is accessible and flat throughout, making it suitable for all paces.
