park
立田自然公園
Forested park with Hosokawa clan tombs under ancient camphor trees.
A forested park on the grounds of the former Hosokawa clan villa, containing the family mausoleum and moss-covered stone lanterns under a towering canopy of camphor trees. The park is a favorite local spot for autumn foliage and quiet walks.
Peak autumn color arrives in late November. The adjacent Hosokawa Gyobu-tei samurai residence (separate admission) gives a detailed look at feudal lord domestic life.
