白猪の滝
A 96-meter tiered waterfall in a cedar forest that freezes into a spectacular ice sculpture in winter.
Shiraino Falls drops 96 meters in multiple tiers through a pristine cedar forest about 40 minutes from Matsuyama. In winter (January-February), the falls freeze partially, creating stunning ice formations that attract photographers. The 20-minute forest walk to the falls is beautiful in any season, and the area is almost unknown to tourists.
Visit late January for ice formations. Check local reports as freezing depends on sustained cold. Summer visits offer cool forest air.
