Tanukikoji 7-Chome Alley Bars
bar
狸小路7丁目裏路地
A cluster of tiny, family-run bars tucked into the back alleys behind Tanukikoji's 7th block, where locals gather for craft cocktails and conversation.
While tourists crowd the main Tanukikoji arcade, the narrow alleys branching off blocks 7 and 8 hide a constellation of intimate bars seating 6-10 people each. These counter-only establishments are run by owner-bartenders who have poured drinks here for decades. The atmosphere is unhurried, the drinks are reasonably priced, and regulars are welcoming to visitors willing to duck through the curtained doorways.
Look for the bar with a single hand-painted sign reading 'Bar Nishi'. The owner makes his own bitters from Hokkaido botanicals and serves them in vintage glassware.
