Oldest shrine on Nishinoshima in the Oki archipelago, dedicated to harvest and seafaring deities.
Important to sailors and also used as a lighthouse, Takuhi shrine, situated two thirds of the way up the 450 meters high Mount Takuhi is the oldest and most important shrine on Nishinoshima Island and from its vantage point offers dramatic views over the surrounding seas and islands.
