Historic farmhouse that pioneered advanced architectural ventilation for raising silkworms.
A pioneering silkworm farm that developed modern ventilation techniques for sericulture. The traditional two-story farmhouse features a distinctive raised roof structure designed specifically for airflow. It is a wonderful example of practical agricultural architecture from the Meiji era.
While you cannot enter the private residence itself, the visitor center next door provides excellent scale models and explanations of the roof mechanics.
