A pioneering silkworm farm that developed modern ventilation techniques for sericulture. The traditional two-story farmhouse features a distinctive raised roof structure designed specifically for airflow. It is a wonderful example of practical agricultural architecture from the Meiji era.
Local tips
While you cannot enter the private residence itself, the visitor center next door provides excellent scale models and explanations of the roof mechanics.
